Soul Wisdom

Echoes from the Other Side

For years now, as part of my spiritual journey, I have been listening to Near-Death Experiences (NDEs) on YouTube. There are countless individuals dedicated to interviewing and sharing these powerful stories. Conservative estimates suggest that around 5% of the world’s population has experienced an NDE, which, with approximately 8 billion people on Earth, amounts to at least 400 million individuals. Some estimates suggest this number could be as high as 10%.

With such a vast number of people having these experiences, it seems clear that they serve a purpose—not just for the individuals who experience them but for humanity as a whole. NDEs provide profound insights into life, the afterlife, and our spiritual nature. Yet, many of us cling to religious doctrines written thousands of years ago, believing them to be complete and unchangeable. While sacred texts and spiritual teachings contain wisdom and truths, the real-life experiences of over 400 million people offer something unparalleled. Why are we afraid of exploring these accounts? Are we worried that what we’ve believed may not be entirely accurate?

There’s an old saying: You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink. I now understand that in a much deeper way. My challenge to everyone is this: Begin to listen to NDE’s and listen to as many as you can, then tell me it hasn’t changed your view on life in some significant way. These experiences have transformed my own understanding, and I will continue to encourage others to approach them with an open heart and mind. You might discover that you don’t know as much as you think you do.

These experiences are fascinating and deeply moving. When you listen to people share their NDEs, you can hear the sincerity in their voices. Across cultures, belief systems, and personal backgrounds, striking commonalities emerge. Those who experience these profound encounters include atheists, agnostics, individuals who have attempted suicide, and those who have overdosed—yet they describe remarkably similar experiences. The fact that they do not know each other, come from diverse backgrounds, and still recount parallel themes is astonishing. These shared elements have continued to stand out to me, and I still regularly seek out and learn from new accounts.

I wanted to share what I have discovered—the many recurring patterns in NDEs. While this list will likely continue to grow, I believe it serves as a powerful starting point. My hope is that it will encourage you to see that physical death is nothing to fear.

I invite you to explore these experiences for yourself. There is nothing to fear in listening to them. In fact, I have found that 99% of them are overwhelmingly positive. Even in the rare cases where someone encounters a challenging moment, the experience ultimately transforms into something meaningful and deeply healing. NDEs have dispelled many misconceptions about God/Source and the afterlife, and they have given me a profound understanding of the purpose of life on Earth.

Commonalities in Near-Death Experiences

  • Encounter a peaceful darkness or tunnel leading to a bright, expanding light.
  • Upon entering the light (which is incredibly bright yet not blinding), feel immense love, peace, and joy, with the deep knowing that everything will be okay.
  • See indescribable colors not known on Earth.
  • Feel a sense of being home and remember they have come from this place.
  • Realize that this realm is far more real than the physical world.
  • Have absolute certainty that the experience was not a dream or hallucination.
  • Feel no judgment from God/Source or other beings—only self-reflection.
  • Experience a life review, reliving key moments from birth to the present, including:
  • Feeling the emotions of others affected by their actions.
  • Understanding the ripple effect of their choices.
  • Gain deep compassion and empathy by seeing others’ perspectives.
  • Witness breathtaking landscapes, gardens, trees, cities, and buildings beyond earthly comprehension.
  • Communicate telepathically—verbal speech is unnecessary.
  • Observe people’s thoughts and travel instantly to any place or loved one.
  • Watch their own body from above but feel detached, sometimes not realizing at first that it’s theirs.
  • Observe medical personnel working on their physical body.
  • Meet deceased loved ones, including those they didn’t know in life but recognize as family.
  • Encounter beings of light or guides with an innate sense of knowing who they are.
  • Visit a vast library containing records of all lives.
  • Perceive or interact with God/Source, Jesus, angels, or other divine beings.
  • Gain insight into parallel lives or past lives.
  • Understand that time is not linear on the other side—everything happens simultaneously.
  • Learn that love, compassion, kindness is the ultimate purpose of existence as everything is connected.
  • Often given a choice to stay or return, though some are told they must return for a purpose.
  • Most do not want to return to their earthly life.
  • Know they had knowledge of everything and what it’s all for while in the NDE but forget much upon returning.
  • Realize that they are not their body—it is only a temporary vessel for the soul.
  • Understand that we are all sparks of God, deeply interconnected with all of existence.
  • Feel how dense and restrictive the physical body is, making the return into it uncomfortable.
  • Have a profound knowing that they are eternal beings and never truly die—only the body does.
  • Completely lose the fear of death after their NDE.
  • Experience increased love, compassion, and non-judgment toward others.
  • Some return with supernatural or enhanced abilities they didn’t have before.
  • Are shown how prayers create vibrations and enact change in the Universe.
  • Are sometimes shown glimpses of the future but often told they will forget details for their own good.
  • Realize that many aspects of their life were preplanned before birth for soul growth, though free will still plays a role.
  • Feel intense emotion when recounting their NDE because the experience was far more real than earthly life.

A New Perspective on Life and Death

The common threads across NDEs challenge many traditional beliefs about God, judgment, and the afterlife. They reveal a God/Source of unconditional love, where life is about evolving, growing, and expressing love.

The takeaway? We are not alone. We are deeply loved. Death is not an end—it is simply a transition.

If you’ve never explored NDE accounts, I encourage you to start. Listen with an open heart and see where it leads you. It may just change your life as it did mine.
